What headhunting means
This term describes the search for executive and specialized staff through direct approach (Direct Search). It actually has less to do with hunting than with a very targeted search for a manager who perfectly matches the expectations of the customer.

If an HR consultancy exclusively searches executives for customers this process will frequently be called executive search. In the beginning a kind of elitist recruiting, today not only first-line managers are recruited via executive search.
